As you approach the end of your lease term, you have several options to consider for your next step. To help you figure out what’s best for you, we’ve provided a few helpful tips for you to review.

What are my lease end options?

Purchase the Toyota you are currently driving

If you love the vehicle that you are leasing, Village Toyota can help you purchase it outright.

Financing – if you didn't lease from Village Toyota, we are happy to contact your originating dealer and arrange for vehicle financing through Southeast Toyota Finance
Purchase Outright – Village Toyota can help you obtain your vehicle payoff, and provide you with the mailing address and necessary sale documents.

Return your Toyota

Village Toyota is standing by to assist you in returning your leased Toyota upon the conclusion of your lease. We're more than happy to assist with finding you a new or pre-owned vehicle as well!

Leased vehicles, especially Toyotas, often hold their value quite well. By properly maintaining and taking care of your Toyota, you could find yourself in a positive equity position where your remaining balance owed on the lease is actually less than what your vehicle is currently worth! If this is the case, Village Toyota can purchase your leased vehicle for its residual value, and apply any remaining equity toward the purchase or lease of a new Toyota. What do I need to do?

Before your return

Examine your vehicle for possible excessive wear and use, and make any necessary repairs
Ensure all contracted payments and miscellaneous fees are paid to your lender
Schedule a complimentary inspection appointment with your lender before your maturity date
Call your local DMV to find out if your state requires license plates to be returned at lease-end
Schedule an appointment at Village Toyota to turn-in your Lease Vehicle

During your inspection and return

Bring the following to your inspection and lease-return appointments:

Toolkit and spare tire, if applicable
All sets of keys and remotes, if applicable
Owner's Manual
Any original equipment on your vehicle (radio, headrests, 3rd row seat, tonneau cover, etc.)
Ask Village Toyota to record the vehicle's mileage. Don't forget to sign the Odometer Disclosure Statement and ask for a copy.

AFTER YOU TURN-IN YOUR LEASE

Southeast Toyota Finance will send you a Lease End invoice if you have any unpaid payments, late fees and miscellaneous charges. This invoice will also include Excessive Wear and Use charges, and Disposition Fee if applicable. Some of these items may be taxable. Please contact Southeast Toyota Finance for specifics.
In many cases, Southeast Toyota Finance will waive the disposition fee (up to a certain amount) if you replace your vehicle with a New Toyota or a Toyota Certified Used Vehicle within a certain time period before or after return
